Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program Details
Differing from inpatient care, adults who attend this program allow them to receive treatment for just a few hours a day throughout the week. The adult intensive outpatient program is offered Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Patients are in treatment for three hours per day, three to five days a week. Program length is individualized, though patients typically spend four to six weeks in IOP services.

Diagnostic and treatment components throughout our intensive outpatient psychiatric program include:
- Psychiatric evaluation
- Medication consultation
- Weekly visits with a psychiatric professional
- Comprehensive case management
- Transportation assistance
- Individual and family therapy sessions
- Cognitive Behavioral Group Therapy
- Adjunctive therapy groups, including yoga, animal-assisted therapy and mindfulness training

Our Treatment Team
Our IOP mental health program treatment team consists of the patient, family members, the physician, the therapist, a social worker, nurses and mental health professionals. Anyone on the treatment team can address questions regarding a patient’s treatment plan.
The therapist develops an individualized treatment plan to address the patient’s unique needs. Patients who attend this program receive a variety of therapy services, along with provision of thorough aftercare planning.

Branches Dallas, a service of Hickory Trail Hospital, understands taking the first steps can be confusing or difficult. With various inpatient and outpatient treatment options at our facility, our goal is to help individuals find the right treatment program for their needs.
Our intensive outpatient mental health program at Branches Dallas does not require patients to stay overnight at our facility. This allows the patient to go home each day after each treatment session.
